By Moyosore Salami THE National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the upgrade of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, to University of Education. Executive Secretary of NUC, Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed, presented the Letter of Recognition of Shehu Shagari University of Education, Sokoto, to the State Governor, Rt Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, at a brief ceremony yesterday in Abuja. With this upgrade, Nigeria now has 58 state universities and a total of 206 universities including private and federal government- owned.
