MKU honours former president with new Convention Centre

By Opeyemi Babalola For his contribution to the country’s education sector, Management of the Mount Kenya University (MKU) has honoured Kenya’s former President, Mwai Kibaki by opening a Convention Centre in his name at its main campus in Thika. At the formal opening of the Centre, the founder and chairman of MKU, Prof Simon Gicharu, said the former president’s policies “radically transformed the education sector over the years.” President Kibaki expanded learning opportunities for children when he introduced free and compulsory primary education as soon as he assumed leadership in 2003.Also…
