Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State, has been honoured for its ‘international outlook in quality education and moral standards’.
The honour was conferred on the institution at the World Education and Technology summit, which held at the Nigerian National Merit Award House, Abuja.
In a statement obtained by University Times International (UTI), Swiss international, which organised the award stated that Caleb University was deserving of the honour based on its ‘outstanding infrastructure, best quality education, research and exceptional services to humanity and the public.”
The institution stated that “Caleb University is an important player in the educational sector and has impacted positively on many generations. We have decided to invite your university to receive this award and to share their ideas with other world-class institutions and leaders.”
Representative of Swiss School of Business and Management, Geneva, Switzerland Mrs. Mariarita Mercurio made the presentation on behalf of the institution.
Caleb University’s Deputy Director, Public Relations &Marketing Dr. EIvis Otobo, who represented the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nosa Owens-lbie at the ceremony, thanked the organiser for recognising the immeasurable efforts of Caleb University in entrenching best quality education matched with state-of the-art facilities.
Owens-Ibe, a professor of Communication, Media and Development, said the award is an affirmation of the high standards of quality education and research offered at Caleb University, as well as the level of extraordinary moral standards prevalent among its students.
Prof Owens-lbie expressed optimism that the award would inspire greater commitment towards excellence among staff and students in conformity with the vision of its founder, Dr Ola Adebogun.
In a similar vein, Prof.Nosa Owens-Ibie, was accorded special recognition by the organiser in recognition of his immense contributions towards the development and transformation of the institution since he assumed duties as the Vice-Chancellor of Caleb University.
